Spens Dies in London - - was Vice President of Burlington; Widow is former Bluffs woman. 14 Aug 1931 Conrad E. Spens, 57, executive vice president of the Burlington railroad, and whose wife is the former Edna Louise Keeline of Council Bluffs, died early Friday morning in London, England, according to dispatches from that city. He was traveling with his son, Keeline, 19, when he was striken. Mrs. Spens hurried to his bedside from Colorado, where she and her mother, Mrs. George Keeline were vacationing. She reached London Aug 1. The Burlington railroad will fly all flags at halfstaff, beginning Friday until next Tuesday evening. Spens is a former resident of Omaha. | ||||||||||
